I would like to ask what are the OOTB Flows that is utilized by SAM, I have checked both Workflows and Flows.

In flows (Flow Designer) there are two which is :

  1. Software Asset Reclamation Flow
  2. Software Asset Reclamation line flow

Under workflow is:

  1.  Procurement Process Flow - Software

But I don't think the workflow is relatively used in SAM.

Are there more OOTB Flows, like HAM has.

Hello @Zack Hilacan1 ,

Below are some of the SAM OOB flows.

ServiceNow provides several out-of-the-box flows for Software Asset Management (SAM), including:

1. **Software Discovery and Inventory**: Automatically discovers software assets across the IT infrastructure, tracks licenses, and maintains an accurate inventory.

2. **Software Compliance Management**: Monitors software license compliance, alerts on potential issues, and helps in maintaining compliance with software vendor agreements.

3. **Software Procurement**: Streamlines the procurement process by automating requests, approvals, and purchases of software licenses.

4. **Software Usage Tracking**: Captures software usage data to optimize license usage and identify opportunities for cost savings.

5. **Software Lifecycle Management**: Manages the entire lifecycle of software assets from procurement to retirement, ensuring efficient utilization and proper disposal.

6. **Software Vendor Management**: Centralizes vendor information, contracts, and negotiations to facilitate better vendor relationships and cost management.

If you find my response helpful, please consider marking it as the 'Accepted Solution' and giving it a 'Helpful' rating. Your feedback not only supports the community but also encourages me to continue providing valuable assistance.

Thanks,

Amitoj Wadhera

When creating a Software Model and publishing it into the Product Catalog, ServiceNow offers several Out of the Box (OOB) Workflows which can be linked to these catalogs, provided the OOB procurement plugin has been installed. An example of such a workflow is the Procurement Process Flow - Software.

The SAM Foundation and Procurement plugins are designed to complement each other. Whenever there is a need to procure software in instances where entitlements are not available, these OOB workflows become essential. With the Procurement Plugin installed, additional fields are integrated into both the Request and Request Item (RITM) tables.

For instance, on the Request tab, there is the inclusion of "Sourcable" field indicating whether the request can be sourced or not. Other crucial fields include "sourced" and "received," which play pivotal roles in driving the entire software procurement process in ServiceNow.

PS: SAM Foundation and Procurment Plugins are free of cost and comes with ITSM
