Hi all,
Softwares in Software Installation table are showing as Unlicensed Install = true and Is Reconciled = true, even though they are not added in the entitlements table.
Can anyone help me to understand why Is Reconcile is true and Unlicensed Install is true? How do these fields turn true? On what Criteria?
How does the SAM job executes or reconciles? does it reconciles all the Publishers available in Software Installation table?
Any quick help is much appreciated.
Regards,
Pranita

Hi
Thank you so much for your response, in my case the Reconciliation engine is calculating compliance for all the publishers which are even open source software's which do not need licensing. How to make that reconciliation stop? And where can i find the script which can show me that it is reconciling for all the publishers?

The code for the Reconciliation Engine is locked down. You will not be able to review any of its code. However, as I mentioned in my previous post, if you create a SW Model, leave the Discovery Map attribute blank, and then define the version condition, edition condition, platform and language variables to return the installations for software you don't want reconciled, you then can set the "License under management" checkbox to 'False' by unchecking it. This will force Reconciliation to skip that product and the related software installations.

Hi Daniel,
I have a similar problem.
Your solution sounds good, but I would have expected the “Ignore Installs” checkbox on the software product to ensure that the product is identified as compliant in this scenario.
Can you tell me what other purpose the “Ignore Installs” checkbox has or what else I need to configure in order to use it effectively?

Software model field - "License under management"
"True/False". If you clear this option, your software model won't be included in your reconciliation results. The models does not appear in any reconciliation results and workspace views.
Software product field - "Ignore installs"
False - Each installation of the product may result in additional license consumption if, for example, no assigned user is available for the device or the assigned user has no valid subscription (Examples SaaS M365 or Adobe).
True - Consumption of the product is based solely on the information imported from the subscription portal. Installations found are not taken into account
Often used in combination with "Subscription software" is true. For all non-custom products, the value is managed by the SAMP content library.
Best, Dennis

Hi Dennis,
thanks for your explanation, thats exacly my understanding.
We can`t use the option "License under management"=false, because we want to manage it, but based on subscriptions.
We have configured a product in this way:
But the product is still marked as not compliant:
The related list in the product displays 19 software installations, 12 of them marked as Unlicensed installs.
I expected the configuration of the product to prevent exactly this behavior.
Any other ideas on what else we have configured incorrectly or what the problem might be?
Thanks for your help
