I am looking to create a dependency view in ServiceNow for Software Asset Management that ties software with User information. I am having a tough time because Software Model is not populating for software that are web based (i.e Salesforce). Is there a way to gather all Software information into one view?
Tables:
Software Subscription (samp_sw_subscription)
- Publisher
- Product
- Software Model
- User
- Subscription Identifier
User (sys_user)
- Budget Owner
Software Entitlements (alm_license)
- Display Name

You might need to build a custom database view or report dataset around Software Subscription, pull user fields from sys_user, and pull entitlement identifier and owned-by fields from Software Entitlement.

Hi @KindonCrowd,
Dependency Views are built around CIs and relationships in CMDB, so they work best for infrastructure and discovered application components. For SaaS products, ServiceNow stores much of the useful relationship data in the Software Subscription [samp_sw_subscription] table.
Can you please outline why you want to create dependencies or better, what you want to achieve?
Hope this helps!

Thank you for the reply! I understand that this works around CI and relationships that is why I am having a hard time. Essentially, I am trying to get the budget owner information from the user table attached to the Software Subscription table as well as Software Identifier from the Software Entitlement. This is an ask from a manager.

I am disappointed because I meant to say assistance creating the database view instead of dependency view. That was the issue I was experiencing trying to tie together all of those tables.
