Hi folks,
I have modified my first PA List widget with a Scorecard visualization, and I am struggling with a couple things on it. Hoping somebody can direct me with pointers to get what I'd like or at least to the right documents that explain it. I have a function indicator (% Compliant CI) with a target set of 80. The indicator is made up from two automated indicators using (1 - (# CIs with Missed Target VITs / # CIs Scanned in the Past Week)) * 100 ... both automated indicators use "Count Distinct", one from the Vulnerable Items table and one from Discovered Items table. All three have a breakdown n common of "Company".
Issue number one: when I select an element from the Breakdown filter on the dashboard, the widget refreshes with the modified numbers in the widget, but removes the 80 from the Target column. I tried to set a breakdown of Company tied to the Target, but that takes the 80 off the Target column when no breakdown element is selected, showing it when I select one. How do I (or CAN I even do it) configure things such that the target on the indicator is honored whether I breakdown filter it or not??
Issue number two: I am not seeing a proper visual impact of color rating those entries where I have set a target. I started with no color scheme set, to use the default. I am not seeing much of anything other than Red - where I expect a "green" it still looks black to me on my particular screen. I found the 3 traffic light scheme and reviewed what colors it has, so I tried to force fit that scheme into my indicator targets, but I am still not seeing the mid range "Orange" nor the good range "Green". I believe I understand the concepts that the scheme is based on a delta of score and target as a percentage of the target (up or down) to set those colors ... but where I think that math says to show Green, I still see Black. Any pointers on how many fields and tricks needs to be configured in all these components to ensure my colors change for the immediate visual impact they provide?
Thanks, in advance, for any suggestions or directions of what to go look for!!

Hi @Joe Kline
Issue Number One - Target Definition:
You may need 2 different Target records defined. One for the Indicator, and one for the Breakdown (Any element)
Like below.
Issue Number Two - Target Color Scheme
Basically, the colors is used when your score deviates from your target. For example: Your indicator score = 50, the target for your indicator is 65, which means you are +23% off target. The color of your score will then be determined by the color of the range where the +23% falls in. (Direction is Minimize)

Timi,
THANKS so much for the suggestion on issue 1. Took me a moment to realize what was being said and what my Indicator screen should look like, and to remember to actually set a value on the second target record. I now have 2 target records, one "empty" for the indicator, and one "breakdown" for the object I want ... and the dashboard widgets filter correctly retaining the target column. Appreciated very much.
Issue 2, however, is still eluding me. I understand how and when the colors are to used, I guess I am completely unclear on where I should be seeing them - and from your example screen shots I am still not sure as it implies there should be a Blue coloring, but all the places you have highlighted in green outlines are still black text. I have a target set of 80%, for example. I have one Indicator that results in a score of 69.42%, well below the target (69.42 - 80) / 80 is a -13.225% difference - so the 3-color traffic light color scheme has that at Red. The dashboard scorecard widget I am using in fact shows the 69.42% in "Red". Another indicator on the next scorecard row is 90.61%, well above my target of 80 (90.61 - 80) / 80 is +13.2625% of my target and that should be a "Dark Green" according to the 3-color traffic light scheme. But it displays on the scorecard in Black text. Drilling into the Analytics Hub to interact with the data, I see nothing in a green coloring to represent we are at or above target; so my confusion and question of how it is working and where should I expect to see that color-based quick indicator "goodness/badness" against the set target?

Timi, I marked your response as the solution to my issue, as I am using the light scheme in my preferences, and the "Dark Green" is so close to "Black" that my eyes are not discerning color there. The "Red" and "Orange" colors are showing up, but somewhat muted in brightness in that scheme. Changing to the "Dark" background color scheme clearly shows all three colors more vividly, so my dashboard widget is in fact working as intended.
Thanks, so much, for your references and aid in getting this done for me.

Hi @Joe Kline
For your concern about "all the places you have highlighted in green outlines are still black text".
In Analytic Hub, the color is actually reflected through the line rather than the score number. You can observe this in the screenshot I provided, where the line is shown in blue color.
Anyway, seems I was late as you've already figured it out. Nice!
Cheers,
Tai Vu
