Hello , I would like to ask if change request ticket is required for the changes made in non-production instance? for example, do you need create change request ticket for ServiceNow DEV instance clone? I am not sure what is the industry best practice and how other company is doing.

Hi @Annie7 ,
Not at all!! You don't need any Change request for the movement of changes in non-prod instances.
Even for clone you don't need any change request, what is required is a proper communication to the teams who are using the instances and letting them aware of the clone or code movements.

Hi there,
That would really be up to you. If your company requires to register some sub-production activities or not. Personally I hardly see this happening for a System Clone through a Change Request at companies, I do see this happen often through a Story.
Kind regards,

Hi @Annie7
It depends upon how your organization plans on tracking activities in across multiple instances, in most of the cases the Change Request is tracked for PROD instances.
For sub prod and sandbox instances, activities such as plugin activation, Cloning is handled by Stories.
