"Assigned to" vs. "Supported by" in a Business Service

Hi there,

When I create a Business Service, there are two similar-looking fields: "Assigned to" and "Supported by", both of which take a person's name as input. Please see screenshot at Screenshot: Business Service | ServiceNow IT Service Management Suite .

How are these fields meant to be used please?

The hints on the label say:

assigned_to: "Person using or primarily responsible for this item"

supported_by: No hint

I would say assigned_to is the owner of the service, where supported by may be the team owner.   Either way, they are both inherited from the cmdb table.   A lot of fields are inherited that are never used, so use them how you see fit.
