I have a customer that uses RPA heavily in the financial services domain. Basically Catalog Items are created to capture necessary information + approval. Once the tasks get generated, an integration to the RPA system steps in and does the actual work of communicating with oracle and other financial systems to perform actions such as refunds.
They manage a few million dollars in financial transactions a year in this way. No waiting for staff to come in at the right shift: RPA just processes all requests that get to a certain stage immediately.
As far as I can tell its basically a micro-bi-directional integration. No different than ticket exchange between two systems.

Hey hi, I also work in the financial services industry and my colleagues with me also use RPA as it is very, very convenient. This saves time and effort. We took several computers that handle tasks and processes on https://www.automationstop.com/ . They process orders very quickly, thanks to them we have reached a new level of profitability and order processing. The more orders - the more money. The best part is that they do it instantly. You are right, the processing is absolutely no different from, for example, the exchange of tickets, the principle is the same, only in more quantity and cost 🙂 But they require a sufficient amount of electricity and power costs , do not forget about it!
