Adding Incidents to Service Dashboard

In the Service Dashboard the color representation of the Service Instance is keyed off of any open Alerts.  Is there a way to add Incidents to this?  It would be nice to be able to indicate an open issue against a Service that may have been reported by a user and not picked up via Event Management.
