Hi everyone,
I am looking for a way to have the side item bar (Contextual Side Panel / Agent Assist panel) collapsed by default when an agent opens the draft email / compose email screen in CSM Configurable Workspace.
Currently, when navigating to compose an email, the side panel expands automatically, which takes up screen real estate. I would prefer it to remain collapsed until the agent explicitly chooses to open an icon/tab.
Workspace: CSM Configurable Workspace (Next Experience / UI Builder)
Has anyone achieved this through UI Builder page configuration, UX Page Properties, or User Preferences without breaking standard workspace behavior?
Any pointers or step-by-step guidance on where this default state is handled would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance!

Hi @ammar_k ,
There is a user preference available for this.
Open your profile, select Preferences, and navigate to Workspace. You will find the “Show the sidebar” option.
The user preference record is workspace.showAgentAssist.
Set the value to false to have the sidebar collapsed by default.
If you find this response helpful, please mark it as Helpful and Accept the Solution.
Regards,
Harish

Hello, thank you for your replay
this works on the record page for agent assist for example
but it doesn't work in draft email page, for email templates.
