I have configured the SOW view for CIs so when I open a CI in the workspace it shows with this view. However, if I open an incident and click on the CI that is on the incident, the CI opens in the Default view. How can I have the CI open in the SOW view instead of the default view?

Please see below for details
Go to cmdb_ci.LIST from Application Navigator and look for CI and select the view
In my instance, below is default view
View - CMDB Workspace that I have customized for testing and showing up in Workspace on click of CI
You can check the view that is rendered and for Workspace it should be CMDB - Workspace. If not, it could be customization at your end. You can either change to CMDB - Workspace and try it or change default view form layout as per your requirements and that should render it fine in Workspace.

Thanks for the update. Did you check my last post ?
Please go to sysrule_view_workspace.LIST from Application Navigator and check the view associated for the corresponding CI Class table.
For example, below is from my instance for Server Class and the lower order takes precedence if multiple rules match for the table.
Also, if there is a specific match for Child Class, for example if you are linking Windows Server Class cmdb_ci_win_server in Incident CI field, view rule for that class will take precedence
Below is sample CI for Incident belonging to cmdb_ci_server class. As explained earlier, Server class has view CMDB - Workspace defined with lower order
When I open the CI from Workspace, it will open based on form layout configured in CMDB - Workspace
Please check the information in your instance and compare with provided details.
If it still does not work, please share sysrule_view_workspace screenshot for the class along with CI screenshot showing the class information from table cmdb_ci.
If this helped to answer your query, please mark it helpful & accept the solution.

Bhuvan

Can you please share the details of CI 'Test Server' from cmdb_ci table along with opening this CI in view 'CMDB - Workspace' ?
Below screenshots are the details am looking from your instance for CI 'Test Server'
I suspect there could be duplicate CI in some other class that is rendering a different view.
Also, go to System Definition -> Plugins and update plugins related to Service Operations Workspace and UI Builder to see if it helps.
If this does not work, I would recommend submitting support ticket with ServiceNow.

There's only the one CI. Sounds like something NowSupport can sort out for us. Thanks
