Notifications in Workspace using Inbox

I am planning to implement notification(alerts) in Service operation workspace for all ITIL users, these notification should stay for more than 7 days . Can i use INBOX for same ?

The inbox is already configured , basically I want to generate alerts/notification when request items are assigned for ITIL role.
