If you’re working with ServiceNow’s Now Assist platform, the Now Assist Readiness Evaluation is your first stop to gauge how prepared your instance is for Now Assist and agentic AI capabilities. Before you can see any assessment results, though, you’ll need to configure a few scheduled jobs and guided setup tasks.
Here’s how to get it all up and running, no fluff, just the steps that matter.
🧩 Step 1: Run the GenAI/AgenticAI Assessment Scheduled Job
This is the job that populates your Now Assist Readiness Evaluation Workspace with data.
Before you begin:

You’ll need the admin role.
- Confirm that the Now Assist Readiness Evaluation(
App ID: sn_assess
) is installed💡 Search for the app after navigating to All > System Definition > Plugins.
Steps:

Go to All > System Definition > Scheduled Jobs.

Filter the list so that Application is Now Assist Readiness Evaluation.
💡 If you don’t see the Application column, use the “Update Personalized List” icon to add it.

Open the job named GenAI/Agentic AI Assessment.

Select Execute Now.
This runs the scheduled job and starts generating assessment results for both agentic AI and generative AI.
Need to rerun it later? Just repeat these steps. You can rerun all scheduled jobs as needed to reassess after adjustments in your instance have been made.
🧭 Step 2: Start the Now Assist Readiness Evaluation Guided Setup
Once your assessments are running, it’s time to configure the five core Now Assist jobs that complete the readiness evaluation.
Before you begin:
Make sure you’ve already run the GenAI/AgenticAI Assessment job from Step 1.
Role required: admin
Steps:

Go to All > System Definition > Plugins.

Search for Now Assist Readiness Evaluation.

Under the Installed tab, open the app, Now Assist Readiness Evaluation (
App ID: sn_assess
). -
Select Configure in the Get Started area.

Review the intro screen, then select Continue.
💡 You can also access the Agentic AI Assessment Guided Setup screen by navigating directly to All > Now Assist Readiness Evaluation > Guided Setup.
You’ll now see the Agentic AI Assessment Guided Setup, with three sections:

Scheduled Jobs
-
Restricted Caller Access Privileges (HRSD only)

System Properties (HRSD only)
⚙️ Step 3: Run the Five Now Assist Scheduled Jobs

In the Scheduled Jobs section, click Start.

Open each scheduled job in the guided setup and then click the link to the individual scheduled job record (for example, Now Assist Assessment – AI Search). This will open in a new tab.

Click Execute Now to run the job.

Return to the guided setup and click Next.

Repeat until all five jobs have been executed.
Once all jobs are complete, your main Now Assist assessments are ready to go.
🧠 Optional: Configure HRSD Access and System Properties
If you’re working with Now Assist for HR Service Delivery (HRSD), you’ll need to grant additional access and adjust system properties.

On the Restricted Caller Access Privileges screen, click link for Change The State to Allowed for the following records.

Switch to the Human Resources: Core app scope.

Update the Status field from Requested to Allowed for each record.

Return to the guided setup and click Next.
-
Then review System Properties.
-
Select Mark Complete and close the setup.
✅ Result: You’re AI-Ready
After completing these steps, your instance is fully configured for Now Assist Readiness Evaluation.
Head to Workspaces > Now Assist Readiness Evaluation to view your GenAI and Agentic AI assessment results.
