Attachment/Document retention time

Hello SNOW community,

I would like to know the retention period for attachments added to a form or perhaps where to find it. Note: I have created a scoped app with a table extending Task. In case, this affects retention time.

I did some searching but most of it was tied to HR application.

Thank you!

Hi @azsnow

As I had mentioned above, there isn't a retention period for attachments as far as when they will be purged. Using your scenario, that incident would still be there 5 years later with the attachment 🙂

If you delete the incident, the attachment is also deleted, just throwing that out there.

Hello,

Can you give a bit more information?

Once an attachment is associated to a document, it's permanently associated, there isn't a retention period unless you choose to archive the record the attachment is housed on.

Thank you, Allen. In other words, does a record in the Attachment table get purged after certain time or will remain as long as the record it is associated to remains as well? Lets say I add an attachment to an Incident and would like to go back and view/download that attachment 5 years later will it be there?

Thank you!

Yes. Attachment would remain with the incident after 5 years and would be downloadable.
