Bug in "Configure - List Layout"???

In the Catalog Item related list "Catalog Client Scripts", I have noticed that about HALF (50%) of the time I make changes, my changes are thrown away and the layout goes back to a default set of columns.  Have other experienced this?  Is this a known issue?  Is there a workaround?

 

AND NO IT IS *NOT* BECAUSE I USED "PERSONALIZE LIST COLUMNS".  I AM AWARE THAT I NEED TO "RESET TO COLUMN DEFAULTS" TO SEE CONFIGURATION CHANGES.

 

In the following screenshots, I was able to successfully configure the list to show only a single column.  But like I said, very often my changes are thrown away.  Thoughts?  Thanks.
