Can I put a role on a widget on the service portal to hide it from my ESS users?

I have one service portal and want to hide a widget instance.

Hi Cynthia,

The short answer is yes, but it may depend on what Widget you are using.

Widget definitions have a 'Roles' field OOB that should control who can see the widget.

However, If you want to control who can see a certain Widget Instance, you can setup that widget to check for Roles, if the widget does not allow for that already. The OOB Header Menu widget, as an example has a condition field on the Menu Items, that can be used to check for roles.
