Hi all,
has anybody ever included CMDB tables in global search and evaluated a performance impact? If yes, how many CI records that was? We are interested in that but want to know some long-term experience with it.
Thanks,
Dominik

Hello,
The cmdb table details when included in global search will return specific records, not full and this of course helps in performance. Accordingly configure the search limit based on your cmdb data size. The search enabling is done in System Definition > Search Groups as shown below. Configure the cmdb_ci table to include most of your CMDB data here.
If you are looking for number of records returned when you global search, go to System Properties > Global Text Search and configure the properties glide.ui.text_search.rowcount and glide.lucene.base_result_max might help you!
Regards, Akash

I want to update this thread as there is a new CMDB Search feature coming baseline named CMDB Search. It works great based on my experience and it allows to use of powerful queries like "services related to my server-name" and so on.
