Hello,
I am hoping someone can provide guidance on this. We have our Server class broken out into:
Linux / Windows / etc. , and Network into Switches / Routers / Firewall etc.
As I am going through servers making sure they're mapped to applications in the CMDB, I am finding servers without mappings that are Windows DHCP Network Servers, and File Server/scanning shares. Any best practices on how to classify these? I don't think a generic Infrastructure CI is the way to go, but I'm not sure if there is no application for "DHCP" or "File Server"..how to map or classify.
Thanks!

It sounds like you are describing the utility of the servers, which would typically be described as an Application Service. I would recommend creating Application Services called "Network DHCP" and "Windows File Shares" that are children of your "Active Directory" service.
