Has anyone configured a custom SMTP/POP3 email server instead of using the out-of-the-box (OOB) ServiceNow-provided option?
If so, please share any challenges you foresee with inbound email actions, troubleshooting, or availability.
Additionally, are there any potential risks we should be aware of?

Hi @vijayprasadredd ,
Inbound Email:
- You must set up POP3 or IMAP for receiving emails and point it to your custom email server.
- Credentials, port configurations, and security protocols (e.g., TLS/SSL) need to be properly configured.
Outbound Email:
- Configure SMTP settings (e.g., hostname, port, credentials) to send emails through your custom email server.
- Ensure the From address and domain align with your organizational policies (e.g., SPF/DKIM records).
