I want to upgrade my personal instance from Istanbul to Jakarta (in order to get maximum benefit from the Service Portal Training), but I can find no way to do this and my colleagues have suggested that a better option would be to delete my Istanbul instance and start from scratch. How do I delete my instance and release it back to ServiceNow?
I have already saved my current instance as an update set as an XML document to be imported after the upgrade, but I am not sure if this will work to restore my data,

Hi William,
You should be able to upgrade using the Action button. It is visible under the Manage > Instance tab after you login into https://developer.servicenow.com/

Your developer instance? If you go to the developer site and click on the option to manage your instance you should see an Actions dropdown that includes Upgrade. As I'm on Jakarta mine is greyed out but I assume it would be selectable for you.
