I am using the "Work Notes" field on an extended Task table. On the record I want all the entered work notes to list below the field. However I also have the "Customer Communication" field on the form as well...but I don't want these entries showing up also...just the Work Notes. What do I put in the List Layout to get it to only show the Work Notes? Thanks!

seeing that this can be done by creating a "journal list" type field on the table and then setting the dependent field under the tab to "Work Notes", and then adding that field to the form with configure>form layout

thanks everyone for the feedback...just added some info for clarity.
So do I create a 2nd "Activity" section beneath the work notes field? using the "Activities (filtered" field? and then filter that new activity section as needed?

You should only put one Activity formatter on the form. There's no need for both.
Your requirement suggested you wanted to remove the Customer communication from the history. The above examples and links describe how to do that. Was there something more to the requirement we may have missed?

sure, to clarify I want to have both sections that I'm showing in my screen shot. But I only want entries from the "Work Notes" field to show in the section directly below the "Work Notes" field. And then I also want the "Activities" section for a selection of activities chosen through the configuring activities list layout.
Is this possible?

Hi Patrick,
Based on what you're describing (and what I'm understanding) this doesn't sound feasible. The activity history is a display of all changes to the record, not something you instantiate in various places on the form and configure independently for each instantiation.

to populate the "Work Notes" section directly beneath the "Work Notes" field I'm using the "Comments and Work Notes" choice from the List Layout...however I ONLY want the "Work Notes" for this section. BUT I also want to have an Activities section below for other entries as seen on my screen shot.
