How to analyze if the End User is utilizing the allocated license in ServiceNow or Not.

We need to analyze the Planner license usage in ServiceNow. Is there a way we can identify who has been utilizing their Planner Licenses, just so we can reassign them to somebody else in case they’re not without reaching out to them manually.

I am specifically looking to analyze if the end user is actually utilizing the license or not. Ex, : If I have a Planner License in ServiceNow for the PPM Module but I never access the module. I use ServiceNow to only raise Incidents (ITSM License). In that case, the ITBM license is obsolete to me. I need to know the count of such users.

Mark my Answer as Correct and Helpful if it helps

The first one just shows me how to setup Subscription Management and the other one has a report but doesn't work. Thanks for your inputs though. 🙂

Hi @Ketan Mittal

the problem is your question and your assumption.

You DON'T have a planner license! Instead, you are assigned the respective roles which enable you to use certain functionalities.

To be correct, your instance is entitled to a certain number of licenses, but there is no functional relation between the contractual / monetary aspect (licenses) and functional capability to use certain functionalities (roles).

"But stop!" you will say. "ServiceNow creates usage reports to check whether more users are using a certain functionality as they are entitled to!" And yes, you are right, but I have no idea, how they do that.

Kind regards
Maik

Thanks Maik for your insights.
