How to copy a Variable Set with all the Question Choices attached

I have a catalog item that needs to use a Variable Set that is used in another catalog item.  That part is easy.

The hard part is that they want to modify the set.  (I'm lazy) It is a lot of either copy and pasting or typing to recreate it the way they want it for the new item. They are adding several new Question  Choices.

I tried the Copy function, but have no idea where it went or how to use it:

I have seen several questions asked, but no way to do it by just doing a copy and insert or copy and paste etc.  You would think that after 10 years of people asking basically the same question they would have created the functionality.  Maybe they have and I am looking in the wrong place.

This is what I want to do:

Make a copy of "category" and call it "category2" and have it all copy and then be able to go in and delete the ones I need gone without messing up the original.  When I am done, I have this:

And then I can add the new items.

Thank you!!

Hi Claires

Are you copying the choices in a variable or a variable set or both?

Regards

I want to copy the entire variable set with all the choices.  Then I can remove the few they don't need in the new catalog item and add the additional choices.

I had the Variable Set open at that level and clicked on Copy.  I am going to go look for it now that I know where it may be.

It is there!!  I clicked on "All Variables" and my copy is there.

So all you need to do is create a new variable set.

Then go to the variables that you have copied and in list view show the variable set field.

Control click to list update the multiple records and set the new variable set of your copies to the new value.

Then you can tidy up

Sounds like you are there?
