How to manage Knowledge categories translation?

Hello,
We recently installed and configured the Knowledge Management module.
We are using the plugin to manage the translations.
Though we have one challenge for which we have not been able to find a good solution in order to "fully" manage the localization of the Knowledge Base.
This is related to the knowledge categories.
The way module and search page are set-up end-users only see the knowledge categories in English, which could be a problem for some users which are non-english speaking.
We were planning to use a different and "mirror" translated knowledge categories, but this is too complex and not achieving what we want to obtain.
I tried to use the translation modules to get these elements automatically translated, but I did not work.
Maybe I missed something in the categories translation configuration, maybe it should work in a different way, maybe there is no solution.
Anyway, I am a bit lost and I would like to have feedback from people who dealt with the same challenge and find a way to obtain localized kb_category/knowledge categories.

Hi Sarup,
I'm also looking for an answer on this...
I created a dev instance on Geneva Patch 4 and I'm not seeing any change to the kb_category.
On my to do list is to change the field type of kb_category.label myself, if you are unable to provide a release this will be fixed in, could you advise if testing brought up any issues with changing this to a translated text field?

Due to the nature of changes required, we were not able to ship this in a patch. The changes are being included with the Istanbul release, scheduled to be released in mid Q4 timeframe. My apologies for the earlier information.

Thanks for the update Sarup.
For my organisation it is quite a long road to Istanbul (geographically and figuratively speaking)
Is it possible to get the fix outlined as we may have to implement prior to upgrading to Istanbul (is it not as simple as a dictionary change?)

PRB627182 was logged reporting Knowledge category fields showing all translations
The issue is the fields on kb_category are string instead of using translated fields/translated text.
A possible workaround is probably to change kb_category type to translated fields/translated text.
