Icons are not visible

Hello Friends,

I am trying to add icons to the catalog items but they are not getting displayed. I am following below steps;

1) Go to Maintain Item and open the catalog item

2) Add the icon and update the item

Tried with icons of file type PNG with 16*16, 24*24, 32*32 etc but nothing is working.

Am I missing anything here?

Can you please refresh the instance cache and let me know the outcome.


instancename.service-now.com/cache.do


Note :


Ensure that a cache flush is not being run during business hours. Scheduled cache flushes, using cache.do, can affect overall performance and degrade system response times. Cache flushes are intended to prevent older data from interfering with changes and updates. Cache flushes should not be run during business hours and automatically triggered cache flushes are not recommended. Cache flushes are performed automatically when using update sets.

1) You mentioned scheduled cache in your first response. How to configure it?


2) In which all scenarios it is recommended to flush the cache?


3) Isn't ServiceNow auto flush the cache periodically?

Here are my comments



1) You mentioned scheduled cache in your first response. How to configure it?


A) It can be simple job which does the cache flush(instancename.service-now.com/cache.do)


2) In which all scenarios it is recommended to flush the cache?


A) Generally in a situation like this you had we can try doing the cache flush. However it is recommended not to run during business hours.


3) Isn't ServiceNow auto flush the cache periodically? NO

I am facing the same issue in displaying the icon image for "External Content" type Content Items. The image is not visible on portal. Can you please help what I am missing here.
