Import Articles- Knowledge Management Service Portal Homepage

When ServiceNow introduced the Knowledge Portal, it seems like they missed on allowing the ability to 'Import Article' from the Knowledge Portal homepage.

In their product documentation, they highlight "To use the Knowledge Management Service Portal, activate the Knowledge Management - Service Portal plugin (com.snc.knowledge_serviceportal) and enable the glide.knowman.serviceportal.enable_redirectproperty."

However, in doing this the knowledge homepage re-directs you to portal, where you no longer have the ability to Import Articles. Has anyone else run into this issue? Were you able to replicate the ability to Import Article within the Service Portal? If we were to go live with Knowledge Portal today, I planned on adding a new application menu, one for 'Knowledge- Portal' and one for 'Knowledge- Native UI' to still give people the ability to import.

Hope I'm not the only one who noticed this!

Thank you!

Hi Marques,

I myself never noticed about that. Guess it most since I haven't seen so many use the Knowledge portal yet, and those who is, they are importing the articles before the portal gets redirected to and afterwards they do the articles directly in ServiceNow.

But I really would like to hear a voice to the KB mgnmnt from ServiceNow. Not sure thou if the mention is working yet here @sarup_paul...

I'll throw an email as well and see if I can get any response.

Appreciate that, Göran!

This is a known product gap, that we plan to address in a M+ release. We may move the import feature from the end user UI (as in the KM SP UI), and make it a platform only feature, available through a platform menu.

Hope you folks are liking the new Communities platform, which we believe is the next generation KM tool.

This is very helpful to know, thank you!  Since this was posted 5 months ago, I'm wondering if there is any new information you can provide on this?

Thanks!
