Journal field in UI Builder

Hello,

I’m launching a form field page in UI Builder and one of the functions we were really excited about was the Journal field to keep track of comments from client to technician. Unfortunately upon launching the form we see the message “Field type journal is not supported”. Is there another way to have a field on the form that provides similar behavior so we may keep a log of these conversations that are tied to each record? Thanks in advance.

I figured out how to make it work in UI Builder. There are three Journal data field types and the one that works with a form field page is Journal Input. You’ll need to do one extra step and add an Activity Formatter that’s filtered to show only this field if you want to simulate the same behavior that you’d get on a form viewed in Studio.

You don't need a separate field to keep track of changes to the record. If the table at Dictionary level is marked "Audit" to true then each activity will be saved. Add existing field "Activities (filtered)" on your form

I hope this helps

Thank you for the response. We’re not looking to track all changes on the form, we want to use the Journal field to keep a running dialog between technician and submitter that’s tied to the record. Again, this works fine in Studio but not UI Builder generated Form Field pages.
