We are in the process of implementing Knowledge Management. Alot of our informaiton is in Sharepoint, Wikis...
Is there a way to export the data from Sharepoint into Knowledge Management?
I have done several imports and tranform maps in SN so I am familiar with the process. But wanted to hear from the experts.
Thanks,
Shirley

Hi, depends on your needs.
Do you want to import your KB into SN once or re-import over and over? Do you need live synchronization or just let say nightly. You need to say in wich way you can export your data. You can use exported CSV or Excel, particular XML files or database intergration via MidServer. It would be possible to use Webservices if you want to create you articles in SharePoint, which should be also inserted in ServiceNow - here you need to implement this process on SharePoint side.
kind regards
Konstantin

How would we do a one-time export of content from a Sharepoint 2007 wiki that retains links to other articles and images?
Exporting to Excel then CSV strips the links and images. We thought about trying to export the wiki content in HTML format to retain the link information (thinking we could normalize it for the new environment) but the links to other articles are all relative and coded in such a way as to kill that idea. Some Googling suggested that exporting to MS Acess first was the answer but I haven't been able to get the desired results.
I appreciate any suggestions/advice you can provide.

Our import would be a one time import as we want to manage all of the data in SN. I have found a wiki article that talks about web services but it doesnt specify formats. In Sharepoint our documents are in aspx format. SN import is xls, cvs, or xml I believe.
Have you ever done this process of setting up the webservices on Sharepoint to SN?

We want to be able to export articles from SharePoint including the metadata database fields (not the ASPX) files. We want to import it into fields within SN as a structured export and import (mapping). Is there a straight column extract from SharePoint --> ServiceNow mapping so that we don't have to go from SharePoint --> Excel --> ServiceNow?
Examples:
Title to Title
Article Content to Article Content (article content is HTML formatted)
Thanks,
Sheree
