Hi Everyone,

I need to understand few things about the license model in servicenow. I have already searched the community, wiki and got the some basic information.

Need some inputs on the below,

  1. License deployment model for ServiceNow — key (or) subscription (or) any other
  2. Within ServiceNow, do we have a mechanism to review the licensing details and count

Also, i did read about subscription module in servicenow, Subscription Management application.

but i dont think i understood completely, agian those subscriptions are for software license and contracts?Every article is pointing me to the software licensing but i need to know about the ITIL licensing. Can someone please help me out?

Thanks,

Sasi

You will need to get your license model from your ServiceNow account representative. Generally ServiceNow is priced based on fulfillers (or IT users), but you may have special terms.

Once you understand the model you are contracted on you can then use Subscription Management application to setup subscription user sets to configure the models and view your licensing usage live in the production instance.

Thanks Andrew. will check with them.

Hi Sasirekha,

Licenses are complicated to manage, and may require yearly negotiations with your ServiceNow Account Manager. Andrew advice to use the Subscription Management application is nice (I wasn't aware of this feature).

The pricing model is only available under NDA, and is quick to deprecate, this is why you won't find good info online. You should ask it to your Account Manager.

You can find some additional information about cost in my article Financial Implication of Extending Tables

Thanks Shiva. I have already read your article.
