Looking for confirmation for 'Data at Rest' encryption in ServiceNow

Hello,

I am just looking for a confirmation.

For the question - 'Is ServiceNow Data encrypted at Rest?'

The straight answer what I know is - OOTB data at rest is NOT encrypted, but ServiceNow does provide customers with optional methods (paid features) to implement encryption for data at Rest like Column level encryption, Database encryption etc.

Is my understanding right?

Hi @Suggy ,

Data Encryption at rest isn't enabled out of box randomly, it's part of a paid feature set. As the PDF contains the various data encryption options, you'd want to discuss that with your ServiceNow Account Executive. The only "free" option is to enable Encryption Support and that is limited to fields and attachments. Otherwise, you'd want to look at database encryption (the entire instance) or edge encryption (which is more customized, but a bit difficult to set up and involves a proxy server on your end).

The Data Encryption white paper should also be a good resource for you.

Mark my answer correct & Helpful, if Applicable.

Thanks,
Sandeep
