Hello, clever people.
I was wondering how I might change the default behaviour of the catalog reference field search box, so that whenever I use it, it would behave as if I had entered an asterisk.
For example, when selecting which application has an issue, I see no results for 'visio', because the object in the table is called Microsoft Visio, but I see results for *visio.
Any thoughts?

Hi Phil,
You can use it without issues in Eureka. If you can't find it, you can add it yourself to the system properties table. In order to do this type sys_properties.list in the navigator search field. It will automatically take you to the system properties table. You can add the system property there.
Kind regards,
Thijs

Hi Phil,
You can use this system property to achieve this. If the property is not on your instance, you can create it.
It might aversely affect performance though, so keep an eye on that. System Performance Best Practices - ServiceNow Wiki
ServiceNow's advice is to keep it to false. However, quite a lot of customers request this functionality and use this system property.
Kind regards,
Thijs

Many thanks for this, thijs.daemen We're actually still using Eureka, and I'm struggling to track down that property. Do you know if this is available in Eureka, or do I need to wait until I upgrade?

Many thanks, Thijs, this has worked! I'll do some diagnostics before I decide whether or not to keep it.
