Need to display HTML content in work notes and emails (Incident and Request Item)

As a fulfiller, I should be able to add rich text format, pictures or non-text information into a work note so that it is emailed directly to the caller. This can only currently be done by attachments.
How can I achieve this without adding the new field to the form and replace the old one. Because we have used old work note field in different area of the system. This may affect the other functionality too.

I realize this is an older post, but the code provided works as a "set" in my Tokyo instance. I don't see any way to get the selection to "persist" after entering it despite ServiceNow automatically inserting a submit button.

Yes - it was a while ago - but still relevant to me.
Just recently moved to Tokyo - and now the radio buttons DO work as desired BUT...
Before unlike how radio buttons should work - I was able to check more than one at a time ...
Now - as in your giff - they do "work" ..
But exactly as you say - the "submit" button does nothing (Which I don't really care about...)
But also once posted - the selection can still be changed - which I do care about.
It would be GR8 if the selection could be made - then once posted - the selection in the otherwise uneditable note became "fixed".
I suspect I'm using a kind of "unsupported feature" which I shouldn't expect to be able to work perfectly.
I think what I really want is a rich text Notes field..
and / or a "Quiz" / Q&A type field - I think there is such a thing ???? .
