"Requested For" variable type with "Enable also requested for" checked doesn't seem to be working in the Platform Service Catalog? Why?

I am using a variable that is of type "Requested For" and I have the "Enable also request for" checked in the type specification.  This works fine in the Service Portal, meaning that when I click the multiple users icon at the end of the variable field, a new field pops up to allow more users to be selected, in the single field.  However, this same catalog item in the internal platforms Service Catalog, it does not work, there is no mechanism displaying (like the multi user icon) to enable multiple user selection, so for internal users that utilize the Service Catalog instead of the Service Portal for this same request, it does not work the same.  Is there something OOB that needs to be added on the internal Service Catalog form to cause it to work like it does in the Portal?  I couldn't find where it says that it is only usable in the Service Portal, so I would think it should work in the platform service catalog.  Please advise what I can do to enable this in Service Catalog.

Yes, Correct.

Just now checked in PDI.

The feature is only available in Service portal.(Portal View)
