Setting up IMAP Gmail account in ServiceNow - Connection dropped by Server?

Hi Team,

I'm unable to get an IMAP account setup in my ServiceNow as a POC for a ServiceNow client I am working for.

I've successfully configured this many releases back. However, following the same steps as last time I configured this it no longer works.

The error I receive is when doing Test Connection: 

'Email account connection test completed with result: error, msg: Connection failed: Connection dropped by server?'

I've already configured Outlook to read my Gmail emails successfully with the settings as below.

However, when I use the same configuration in ServiceNow I see the error as mentioned above.

My Gmail settings are as follows:

GMAIL - IMAP is enabled

If anyone has any ideas why this no longer works in ServiceNow or how to get this working please let me know.

Hi Team,

I just spun up a completely brand new New York developer instance (Patch 2).

I then exported the successful sys_email_account record I configured for IMAP from another New York instance (this one has been upgraded recently to New York Patch 1) into my brand new New York instance and received the following errors when testing the connection.

(Account name: Bob, Type: imap, sys_id: de4aa990db218c505a76c4048a961997) Email account connection test completed with result: error, msg: Connection failed: [ALERT] Please log in via your web browser: https://support.google.com/mail/accounts/answer/78754 (Failure)

 

I also imported the same successful sys_email_account record onto another New York instance (Patch 3) and this was also successful when testing the connection.

 

It's making me wonder if something was broken with NY Patch 2 and fixed in NY Patch 3? Unfortunately, I can't upgrade my PDI to NY Patch 3 to validate.

 

If anyone has any ideas, please let me know.

Just tested my successful IMAP sys_email_account record on Madrid and it failed to connect with the same error as mentioned in the previous post. So it seems it's not NY Patch related.
