What are the licences required to manage Knowledge Management?
Is the ITIL role is neccessary to KM?

The KM role "inherits" the ITIL and Knowledge roles (so you will need a license).

Your Knowledge Manager will need the ITIL, knowledge_admin and knowledge roles. I also use:
- global tags creator
- tags admin
- gauge maker
- report scheduler
- template editor
- filter group
- report group
- image admin
- assessment admin

I don't think this is correct. Out of the box the user Knowledge role DOESN'T contain any itil role but can still edit the articles so i am unsure if this is correct
