Assist Usage in Subscription Management
Now Assist and Moveworks Assist are measured in assists, drawn from an annual pool at the account level. Subscription Management shows how many you've purchased, how many you've used, and which instances and skills are driving consumption, so you can stay ahead of your entitlement.
THE SHORT VERSION
How assist usage works
⚡ Each skill use is an action, and each action uses a set number of assists.
📅 Your assist pool resets every year on your contract anniversary date.
🚫 Unused assists don't roll over to the next year.
🖥 Production and sub-production instances both count. Demo and eval instances don't.
🤖 As of November 1, 2026, Moveworks Assist counts toward the same meter.
🖥 WHERE TO FIND IT
The Now Assist usage page
Go to Admin > Subscription Management > Subscriptions > Now Assist usage. You'll need the usage_admin, sn_sub_man.admin, or admin role. The page shows:
📦 Account-level summary: total purchased, total used, and available assists
🖥 Instance view: which instances are consuming the most
🧩 Skill breakdown: actions, assist ratio, and total assists per skill. Moveworks skills appear with an "MW" prefix.
📈 Usage trends: daily and monthly history to support forecasting
💡 GOOD TO KNOW
Keep your numbers accurate
Keep every instance up to date
Assists are pooled across your account, so mixed versions can cause inaccurate totals. Check KB2704710 for the minimum versions.
Testing uses real assists
Dev and test usage draws from the same pool as production, and update sets don't carry usage over.
Moveworks Assist needs setup to appear
Upgrade to the required patch, verify your Primary ServiceNow Instance in Moveworks Setup, and make sure federated_id is populated. Usage counts either way. These steps give you visibility.
Need daily, feature-level detail?
Subscription Management shows account-level totals for entitlement planning. For day-by-day counts within an instance, use the Now Assist Control Panel.
