Hello,
I'm at a bit of a loss. There is supposed to be an option to choose if certain fields should be coalesced on a data import, however I don't see the option on the Transform Map or Mapping Assist forms. I want to coalesce on Category Description/Category and Sub Category Description / Subcategory. What am I missing please???
Thanks,
Trish

Hi
Once you are done with the Mapping Assist form, then go to the Related List of your Transform Map.
- Under Related List Field Maps,
- You can see the Column Coalesce (if it is already configured).
- If you can't find the Coalesce field, then you can personalize the list and bring Coalesce field.
- After Step1, you can add the desired Field Maps to Coalesce.
Please mark my answer as correct if this solves your issues!
If it helped you in any way then please mark helpful!
Thanks and regards,
Kartik

Hey,
You can find coalesce under "Field maps" related list on the Transform map form.
Once you create the field maps, save the form, and navigate to Transform map form.
Ideally you should have the column on list layout, if not, feel free to use GEAR icon on the related list to bring the coalesce column in the list.
How coalesce works?
ServiceNow provides the ability to have an unique key on data imports. This method of matching is called Coalesce. In this article, I'll discuss the different ways you can use coalesce and matching possibilities.
Below article explains all sorts of coalesce you can have in servicenow:

Hi Kartik, your response and mention of Related List area helped me to locate the Coalesce field. Frustrating that the Product Documentation wasn't helpful in the slightest for this, only mentioning that Coalesce needs to be checked.
In the end, the data update failed with unexpected and frustrating results - perhaps because I was updating two fields in the table and I understand there are some complexities to Coalesce that need to be understood.
I've got a session booked with a SME to go over the process.
Regardless, your answer was correct for what I was asking and I've marked it as such.
Thanks,
Trish
