I'm confused on what exactly is a module. From a system standpoint, modules are links categorized within application menus. However, ServiceNow sometimes calls ITSM and others a "module", but they are not literal modules within the platform. Clarification on the terminology would be appreciated!

As indicated in the ServiceNow Terminology, a module is any link in the application navigator that opens a page in the content frame or in a separate tab or window.

Hello,
Perhaps it depends on the context, can you share where ServiceNow has said that in their documentation/advertising material, etc.?
Please mark reply as Helpful/Correct, if applicable. Thanks!

Hi Allen,
Thanks for pointing that out. Now that I think about it, I have only heard ITSM & other ServiceNow solutions called "modules" in conversations with coworkers, but not in any official documents from ServiceNow.
Perhaps my confusion stemmed from interpreting informal semantics too literally.
