PDI stuck in "temporarily hibernating due to an infrastructure issue" for 4+ days

Hi everyone,

I'm facing an issue with my Personal Developer Instance (PDI), and I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced this.

For the past 4 days, my PDI has been displaying the following message:

"Your PDI is temporarily hibernating due to an infrastructure issue. Our team is working on a fix now.

The Start Building button is disabled, and the instance never wakes up. I've tried: Refreshing the page, Logging out and back in, Using a different browser, Waiting several days

Unfortunately, the issue still persists.

Has anyone encountered this problem recently? Is there any way to recover the existing PDI, or is requesting a new instance the only option?

I've attached a screenshot below for reference.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Hi @Premchand_A

It looks like this is a known issue.

There is no official support for this issue, so it is difficult to say exactly what is causing it or when it will be resolved. At this stage, patience may be the best option while waiting for a fix.

An infrastructure-related issue beginning on July 22 caused the ServiceNow Developer Site to become temporarily unavailable and affected the availability of some Personal Developer Instances (PDIs).

The Developer Site is now back online, but some PDI-related actions remain paused while ServiceNow continues to investigate and resolve the issue.

Current status:

  • Developer Site: Available
  • New PDI provisioning: Paused
  • PDI reclaim and wake actions: Paused
  • Existing PDIs: Some remain offline
  • User action required: None at this time

ServiceNow does not expect any data loss. Affected PDIs are currently hibernating, and the data stored on them is expected to remain available once the instances are restored.

If your PDI is offline, you will need to wait until it becomes available again before accessing your data. No action is currently required.

ServiceNow is continuing to monitor the situation and will provide further updates as more information becomes available.

Hi @Premchand_A

Since 23rd July'26 morning , many community members also  reported the same.

ServiceNow Support Team is working on it to resume all affected PDI

Please refer:  Incident: Developer Site Restored and PDI Availability Issues

Wait for some time. At some certain interval Refresh the instance from developer portal.

Do not worry. It would be working as before.

Wait for some times. From Developer portal Keep refreshing .

There is no support available for PDI .

ahoy @Premchand_A,

there's nothing you could do but wait a bit more.

The infrasturcture related issue is to be resolved by ServiceNow, my PDI already works but there's high amount of them in total so that's why your PDI is still unavailable. Let's try tomorrow and wish for the recovery.

As a workaround, you can enrol to any SN University course, there's a lab instance which you can use if you need an instance immediately...
