I would like to know the hierarchy of spm module from idea to resource management. mainly focus on what type of fields we should focus on for a demand and project. I don't know which fields needs to be filled in related list in demand and project. How to link a demand with portfolio.

Hi @VineeshP

I would recommend going to Now Create, where you will find the Process Guide and workshop decks. If you follow those, you’ll be in a good position to clear your doubts.

Hello @VineeshP,

You can think of the SPM hierarchy as follows:

Level DescriptionTypical TableKey Relationships
IdeaCaptures early concepts or improvement suggestions from users.ideaCan be converted into a Demand.
DemandRepresents a business request that needs evaluation (business case, cost, benefit, risk).dmn_demandCan originate from an Idea and lead to a Project or Enhancement.
ProjectApproved initiatives under execution, planned with tasks, timelines, and costs.pm_projectUsually linked to the originating Demand, or can be created independently and associated with a Portfolio or Program.
Portfolio / ProgramGroups of related projects or demands for strategic visibility.pm_portfolio/pm_programParent level for multiple Projects or Demands.
Resource ManagementTracks resource plans, allocations, and capacity.resource_plan,  resource_allocationLinked primarily to Demands and Projects.

For Demands, focus mainly on fields like Portfolio, Category, Business Case , Risk Rating, and Resource Plans. For Projects, key fields include Portfolio, Demand (if converted), Dates, Cost/Benefit PlansTime cards and Resource Plans.

To link a demand to a portfolio, just set the Portfolio field in Details tab on the Demand form.
