Hi Keerthi,

Simulator: In  training, a simulator is a virtual environment or lab provided for hands-on practice as part of a course.

Instance: An instance generally refers to a specific, operational environment of the ServiceNow platform. In the context of services, a "service instance" is a set of interconnected applications and hosts configured to deliver a particular service to the organization. For example, different service instances might represent different ways a service is delivered, such as primary or failover servers for email, or different teams providing the same business service.

Hi @keerthikoru

  • A Simulator is a preconfigured instance and a set of common administration or implementation tasks.
  • The purpose of the simulators is to provide hands-on practice of your administration and implementation skills and receive feedback in the form of validation and recommended content.

Hello @keerthikoru ,

In ServiceNow, an Instance is your actual working environment where you can configure tables, build applications, and test features with full access based on roles (for example, a Personal Developer Instance).

A Simulator, on the other hand, is mainly used for training or learning purposes. It looks like a real ServiceNow environment but has limited access and temporary data, so you can practice without affecting a real instance.
