Hi everyone,
I have a question about tasks in ServiceNow. If I fail a task or make a mistake while working on it, is there an option to try again or reset it? I want to understand the best way to handle such situations without causing issues in the system.
Any guidance or best practices would be greatly appreciated!

Hi @SaistikaJK
Yes, you can create a new task but it depends what went on or mistake you made on that task. Could you please provide more details?
If my response proves useful, please indicate its helpfulness by selecting " Accept as Solution" and " Helpful." This action benefits both the community and me.

Hello @SaistikaJK
It depends... If there is any flow/workflow associated with the original task, you might not have the same flows getting triggered for your adhoc task...
Please mark the answer as helpful and correct if helped.
Kind Regards,

It really depends on how the flow or workflow was built. If you have an option to close a task as task failed, then I would hope that the process reverts back up so that the failed task could be re-tried. Envision a diagram connector returning to the step prior to the one you failed, without that loop back then the process would either end with your failed task or continue on without allowing you to retry.
If this helps please mark it helpful.
