Email option is not showing in Activity Stream for custom Task extended table in Service Operations

Hi Team,

I'm working on a custom Payroll (u_payroll) table that extends the Task table in ServiceNow Zurich. We are using Service Operations Workspace (SOW).

For the Incident table, the Activity Stream Compose section displays the following tabs:

  • Work Notes
  • Comments
  • Email

However, for my custom Payroll (u_payroll) table, the Activity Stream only displays:

  • Work Notes

The Comments and Email tabs are not available.

Environment

  • ServiceNow Release: Zurich
  • Workspace: Service Operations Workspace (SOW)
  • Custom table: u_payroll
  • Parent table: Task

My question

How can I enable the Email tab in the Activity Stream Compose section for my custom Task-extended table?

Is there any additional configuration required in:

  • UI Builder
  • Workspace Record Page
  • Email Client Configuration
  • UX Page/Route
  • Any other Workspace configuration

If anyone has implemented this for a custom Task-extended table, could you please share the required steps?

For seeing comments field it should be in your workspace view in form layout

For seeing email tab email_client=true should be present in your collection type dictionary entry for your custom table
