Hi everyone,
I’ve created a new ServiceNow developer instance to explore Agile Development, but every time I log in, it automatically redirects me to the App Engine Studio home page. I don’t see the classic platform interface or the left-hand navigation bar, so I can’t access modules like Agile Development, Stories, or Sprints.
I’ve tried going to URLs like /navpage.do or /nav_to.do, but it still redirects me back to App Engine Studio. Is there a way to disable this behavior and open the full ServiceNow platform UI by default?
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Hi @aayanarain
No need to worry.
-
Log back into developer.servicenow.com
-
Go to your profile
-
On the left side, open the Instance Recreate section
-
Select Change User Role
-
Change the user role from AES to Admin
-
Save your changes
-
Log out and then log back into your PDI instance
If my response proves useful, please indicate its helpfulness by selecting " Accept as Solution" and " Helpful." This action benefits both the community and me.

Hi, I'm wondering if I can get a bit more help with this. I, too, keep getting redirected to App Engine Studio.
When I'm on the developer.servicenow.com page, when you say in step 2 to go to your profile, do you mean the little circle in the upper right side of the page? When I open that, I do not see anything about Instance Recreation. It's my overarching ServiceNow profile with address, etc. Do I need to be inside my PDI to see the profile option you are referring to? When I go inside my PDI instance, my profile becomes "Creator User" and I do not have the ability to right-click at all.
Any direction would be much appreciated.

Hi Lisa,
My PDI displayed the same behavior.
From your Developer home -
Select the dropdown menu on the right side of the white banner under the profile icon.
Ignore the standard menu options, scroll down, and select 'Manage My Instance'.
Select the 'Actions' dropdown, and select the 'Change User Role' option. Select 'Admin'.
Log Out/In of your instance, and you should be all set.
Your instance may indicate that it's already aligned with Admin permissions, but it isn't necessarily correct. Even if the role is set to 'Admin' in the instance details, do this process to actually set the role.

Hi @lisawalbrid
This is expected behavior when we receive a new PDI. There’s nothing to worry about—you just need to update the role of your PDI.
https://developer.servicenow.com/dev.do
Change to Admin role
save and the logout and login back.
