The Zurich release of Strategic Portfolio Management (SPM) introduces powerful new capabilities designed to help organizations align strategy, investments, and execution with greater precision and agility.

At the heart of this release is the AI Strategy view in the AI Control Tower, a centralized dashboard that provides real-time visibility into AI-linked goals, workstreams, risks, and investments. With intuitive drill-downs and out-of-the-box analytics, organizations can now govern their AI initiatives with confidence, ensuring alignment to strategic priorities and proactively managing delivery risks.

Also new in Zurich is Financials on Planning Items, which enables cost forecasting and budget alignment directly on Epics, Demands, and Projects. This enhancement simplifies financial governance across lean and agile portfolios, allowing teams to capture costs earlier and ensure funding is tightly connected to strategic outcomes.

Finally, to support better planning and communication, SPM now includes New Display Modes in Financials, making it easier to visualize and compare investment data, and Consistent Roadmap Colors, ensuring clarity across strategic views.

These updates reflect a broader shift toward connected, outcome-driven work—one that’s echoed in the latest Collaborative Work Management release, which you can read about here.

AI Strategy in the AI Control Tower

As AI becomes a cornerstone of digital transformation, organizations need a way to track and manage AI initiatives across the enterprise. The Zurich release delivers just that.

With the new AI Strategy view, teams can:

  • Tag and track  AI-related goals and strategic priorities using built-in classification fields.

  • Visualize progress across departments and portfolios in a single, executive-ready dashboard.

  • Identify gaps and risks in AI execution with real-time analytics and trend insights.

This capability empowers organizations to move beyond fragmented reporting and toward a unified, strategic approach to AI governance, ensuring that AI investments are delivering measurable business value.

Financials on Planning Items

Traditional financial planning often lags behind agile execution. The Zurich release bridges that gap by enabling financial data to live directly on planning items, with no integration to core task tables required.

With this update, teams can:

  • Forecast costs earlier in the planning cycle.
  • Align budgets to strategic initiatives without relying on complex dependencies.
  • Support lean and agile portfolios with lightweight, flexible financial tracking.

This enhancement is especially valuable for organizations adopting agile-at-scale frameworks, where speed and adaptability are key.

The Zurich release reflects the growing need for organizations to operate with strategic clarity and executional agility. Whether you're managing AI transformation or optimizing financial planning, these new capabilities help ensure that every initiative is aligned, funded, and delivering impact.

By bringing together strategic planning, AI governance, and financial forecasting in one platform, Strategic Portfolio Management continues to evolve as the command center for enterprise transformation.
