Planned end date different from All Projects list view and form view

Hi,

Something that I do not understand is happening with my project planned_end dates:

the dates I enter from project form do not coincide with the ones I see from the list (project -> all project). It seems that some calculations are going on there.

But I have not created scripts or BR except the instance default one.

Can anybody suggest me what to do?

Thanks,

Skender

Tyler if this can help you, I can admit that:

- The schedule (as Anurag says) plays an important role in sync the project dates (try to apply it in any project or at least know which schedule a specific project uses!)

In the schedule (Project Management Schedule or whatever you use for projects) make sure you define correctly working days and holidays. I had problems when I introduced another new holiday in the schedule.

Try to use the same schedule for projects tasks (or control project tasks Time Constraint to let them start when you plan: Start on specific date).

- Be careful to fully understand the roll up between planned dates, actual dates and project task status (I had problem with projects old start and end dates)

I made a schema to have a clear view of how they move. If you start the project task (put status I work in progress), its actual start date registers the actual date of doing so and then the planned end date becomes read only and is changed automatically in the future - if the project task planned start date was in the past (it depends from the delay). I mean there are calculations made when you change project task status.

Although, when I discovered all these points, I had to initialize the whole projects task dates and now the dates are shown correctly everywhere.

Hope this is useful to you. Otherwise let me know!

Skender

the schedule gets applied as soon as the record is saved, and it should be in sync on the list view and the form. This is strange.

Unfortunately I haven't done too much in Project and haven't come across this before.   Quickly scanning the business rules I do see that the dates are supposed to be updated if the schedule changes but that should update the values in the database and reflect the same on list and record view.

Was the root cause discovered? We're running into the same issue...
