Hi,
My company has Servicenow-SPM , UTAH realease (and also ITSM). We have started using SPM 4 months ago.
We would like certain project stakeholders to be able to view project status reports without being able to edit / modify projects. Our integrator first proposed it_project_user but this can edit projects and also comsumes a full SPM standard user license. We are now using the Business Stakeholder role/license (which is actually part of ITSM?) but although this gives read only access to projects using the program dashboard it *does not* give access to the project status report since the status report is in the project workbench or project workspace which the BS license does not give access to. They can open the related list items "Status report" but that contains only the fields entered by the project manager when creating the status report. It does not show the complete status report.
It seems strange to me that SPM would not have a read only role that can access the complete status report of a project. I would expect the main reason for creating a status report is that it be viewable by stakeholders.
Can you please advise?
Thanks,
Werner Hoffmans

Hi Werner,
I suggest you to review Business Stakeholder role , Business stakeholder role for PPM (servicenow.com). It is suitable for your use case.

Hi Yogesh,
Thanks for your suggestion. Our integrator already installed the PPM plugin for business stakeholder (com.snc.pmo_read_roles) and indeed as the article that you pointed to, this provides access to most or all fields and tables of the projects, however, as I stated in my question, it does not provide access to the status report, only to the status records (in the related lists tab). I do not think (and I am pretty sure most business stakeholders will agree with me) that it is acceptable to ask them to review the project fields and status record fields and then recreate the status report in their mind. They want access to the status report that is shown in the main tab (top navigation) of the project screen. But this probably needs access to workspace or workbench.
Is there any role that does not cost a full user license that has access to the real project status report?
Thanks,
Werner

I created a new user with only role business_stakeholder in my PDI to confirm that I could perform the following:
- Open a status report record
- Use the UI Action form button "View" to open the status report in project workspace
- Use project workspace to select any other status report for the same project
I had both legacy and the new project workspace installed, the button 'View' leads to the legacy workspace.
Please check if you have the OOB UI Action "View" on table project_status , the stakeholders should be able to use it.

Ditto ... I have a hyperlink in my PowerBI report to goto my PPM (ServiceNow project status report) but need the 'view only' for someone to view the statusreport of the project. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
