Resource Aggregate tables (weekly, monthly) - add new category?

Hello Community,
Anyone has experience with adding a new category type to the resource_aggregate_weekly / resource_aggregate_monthly tables, and populate them with values? OOTB there are 7 different aggregates calculated and populated in these tables:
'capacity', 'availability', 'project_allocated', 'project_confirmed', 'non_project_time', 'project_actual', 'non_project_actual'
I would like to also calculate the % Utilization and add this as a new category to these tables, and populate weekly/monthly records for it.
Is it safe to add a new custom category, as I assume other parts of the system are using these ootb 7 categories?
