SPM: Reporting the Checklist feature in the Project Task record

Hi team, we am wanting to add an attribute to the Task record related to Dependencies. Our internal processes describe Dependencies as part of a lifecyle, ie. Identify, Define, Schedule, Monitor, Report

 

The stage the Dependency is in is user defined which we are happy with given some guidance. I want to be able to capture the stage in the PPM record. Other than create a new custom field I was looking at other options

- Tagging is an obvious option, but we have a proliferation of Tags now so want to explore other options

- the Checklist tab on the task record looks interesting. Potentially if I create a template it could be usable across the portfolio(?) My real interest is understanding if the Checklist feature can be reported?

 

I have had a hunt in the Task table but can't find a checklist field/s. I have superuser access not Admin so that might be the issue. The checklist option might not be a practical solution at all for this, any help offered appreciated
