Bulk Retire older version KB articles

Hi All,
In my instance I have multiple duplicate KB articles with same number. This happened because the current version was checked out and then published and hence two copies were created with same number.
Now I have to:
1. Identify all duplicate knowledge articles
2. Change status to 'retire' of the older versions.
Please help on this.

Are these articles created after plugin was enabled? can you see the versions in the related list of these articles?

is this happening for newly created articles? There could be an issue with number maintenance at some point of time in your instance or these could be imported articles.
