Hello everyone, I am new here. On the Admin path. I’d love your advice on how best to approach learning this.
Do I go from Associate System Administrator, Professional, and expert, or is it optional?
My goal is to get to the Business Process Analyst path, so I thought it would be wise to start with the Associate Sys Admin.
Solved! Go to Solution.

Hi @KakaO,
first of all, welcome aboard the Platform of platforms! 👋 🚀
Regarding any of the paths, you can go from the lowest to the highest but sooner or later you will encounter to some (micro)certification which and it can have prerequisites that might be a subject to payments... so try to achieve as much as possible.
Let me share some resources that you might find helpful:
ServiceNow University 🎓 🧠 📚
- Get Started with ServiceNow University
- Collect badges and points to improve your rank.
- most of the content is free, but something - absolute minority - is paid,
- Enrol to Welcome to ServiceNow training and complete it then get your first cert 🏆(but hey I must warn you it’s addictive!)
- What next? Check Career Journeys and Learning Path for inspiration.
- Usually, the very first mainline certificate to take is Certified System Administrator (CSA), a must for pretty much any role in the whole ServiceNow ecosystem.
Developer Portal 💻 🛠️ 🌐
Request your PDI (Personal Developer Instance) here to master your newly gained knowledge.
- PDI is your own ServiceNow platform without a worry that you break something,
- except of AI and few more features you can try more or less everything on your own for free!
- Check the top menu for Documentations, Guides, Glossary and Connections.
At the ServiceNow University you collect points, badges, (micro-)certifications and you earn your ranking
The Developer portal is for further practice and technical references, the reward is that knowledge what you will take from that
🤝 Build your network of contacts to see interesting posts and events on LinkedIn, there are amazing creators and groups to learn even more.
Godspeed! 🤞💪
/* If my response wasn’t a total disaster ↙️ ⭐ drop a Kudos or Accept as Solution ✅ ↘️ Cheers! */
